Julyeth's mom was in Redding for the week and we decided to go on a photoshooting adventure. We started at Heritage Coffee. I was so excited to shoot in a cafe, to capture the light coming in through the window, etc. Then I took out my camera and I... felt awkward! I usually photograph people in nature, with nobody watching. Being in a cafe with people? I couldn't handle it, lol! Then we went to Bethel Church and walked the grounds. It was beautiful. And these two! What cuties. It was so much fun photographing this duo, full of love and sass. Thank you for the laughter, you two. And that delicious scone.
My friend Gushi. We didn't know each other until this month and I'm so glad we met. While her home-town is in South Africa, she stayed with us while she attended Bethel's Worship University. When she entered our house she brought a strong peace with her. She has an unbreakable devotion to Jesus and love for the Word of God. Here's a taste of her sense of humor, in the most dead-serious tone I can muster, "I'm a lawyer. If anyone ever gives you a hard time, you let me know." She also taught me how to use the word "drama" in every situation, "I can't deal with all that drama." Even though our time together was short, I'm so thankful for this beautiful one, full of life, burning brightly, singing freely. Love you, friend.
This summer, I've had the absolute joy of living with Alison, Barry, and Angel. And what a little family we make. This weekend, we ventured into the mountains together. Mount Shasta to be exact. On the drive there, Barry told us mystical stories about this mount. It is a spiritual desination for many people. And being there felt like living in a fairy tale.
Yep, this is pretty much how we all felt. :)
Alison and Barry, you sweethearts, you.
After the sun went down, we ate, shared stories and watched shooting stars occasionally pass overhead. A beautiful night indeed.
Usually, I meet with a couple before their wedding day, but I got to meet Casey and Kendall on their wedding day, June 20th. I knew Kendall was sweet from talking with her on the phone, but I didn't know just how sweet. When I got to the hotel in the morning, I walked into her room right as her make up was being finished. We met with her eyes closed, lol! Kendall is everything sweet and light. Her giggles are contageous and her smile is bright. From the way that her bridesmaids loved her, I could tell that this was a giving heart. She's grounded, someone that people come to for advice, always knowing that she'll have open arms and a listening ear. Casey is just as grounded and is a strong anchor, a safe place for Kendall's flying heart to land.
After spending some time at the hotel, the wedding party set out for the ceremony site. The drive into the mountains from Redding to Lewiston was as breathtaking as this wedding. It was on a mountain in the woods... need I say more? The strong love between Casey and Kendall made the day more beautiful than anything else could. Thank you both for letting me be a part of your day.
A pursuer of Love and tasty treats.
